Journées Européennes du Patrimoine 38ème édition

Du 18 au 19 septembre au Camp de la Transportation à Saint-Laurent du Maroni.

La 38ème édition des Journées européennes du patrimoine à Saint-Laurent du Maroni, qui aura lieu les 18 et 19 septembre prochain, mettra tout particulièrement en avant les liens de la ville avec ses voisins surinamais et la culture Saramaka (en partenariat avec l’association Lobi Makandi) à l’occasion de la célébration du Traité de Paix du 19 septembre 1762 avec les hollandais.

Ce sera l’occasion d’apprendre à mieux connaître cette culture extrêmement riche à travers la musique, la coiffure et l’art.

Ces journées mettront également en avant les cultures urbaines avec la rétrospective de l’exposition du grapheur Wayne MUNROE et la projection d’un film sur l’artiste anglais engagé BANKSY.

Le public pourra également suivre de nombreuses visites guidées au Camp de la Transportation et sur des abattis autour de Saint-Laurent.

Une exposition de photographies aériennes, sur les grilles de l’ancien hôpital, portera sur un sujet d’actualité avec un titre évocateur : « le centre ancien de Saint-Laurent du Maroni : vers une inscription sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco ? ».

European Heritage Days 38th edition

From September 18 to 19 at the Transportation camp in Saint-Laurent du Maroni.

The 38th edition of the European Heritage Days in Saint-Laurent du Maroni, which will take place on September 18 and 19, will particularly highlight the city's links with its Surinamese neighbors and the Saramaka culture (in partnership with the association Lobi Makandi) on the occasion of the celebration of the Peace Treaty of September 19, 1762 with the Dutch.

It will be an opportunity to get to know this extremely rich culture better through music, hairdressing and art.

These days will also highlight urban cultures with the retrospective of the exhibition by designer Wayne MUNROE and the screening of a film about the committed English artist BANKSY.

The public will also be able to follow many guided tours at Camp de la Transportation and on abattis around Saint-Laurent.

An exhibition of aerial photographs, on the gates of the old hospital, will focus on a topical subject with an evocative title: "the old center of Saint-Laurent du Maroni: towards an inscription on the world heritage list of the Unesco? ".
