Exposition Puu Baaka

Du vendredi 16 au vendredi 23 septembre 2022 à Taluen.

L'association Chercheurs d'Autres vous proposent une exposition sur le Puu Baaka de Paul Doudou, Gaanman des Alukus installé à Papaïchton.

Cette exposition photographique est accompagnée d'une balade sonore de Pierre Selvini et un livret pédagogique écrit par Juliette Guaveïa et Marie Fleury.

Dans l'esprit d'interculturalité qui caractérise les membres de l'association, des adhérent de Taluen ont voulu proposer cette exposition au village de Taluen.

Description de l'exposition :
Les Alukus forment un peuple installé sur les rives du fleuve Maroni en pleine forêt amazonienne en Guyane française, ils font partie des Bushi Konde Sama, ou Bushinengués. Au sein de cette communauté, le décès d’une personne est marqué par plusieurs événements culturels, qui se terminent par un Puu Baaka (ou puubaaka), la levée du deuil. Cette cérémonie ancestrale constitue un élément unificateur pour tous.

Les deux photographes proposent ici un regard croisé qui nous plonge au cœur du puubaaka du gaanman (chef spirituel) Paul Doudou, un an après son décès en novembre 2015.

Ce projet est soutenu par le Ministère de la Culture (un été culturel) et de l'Outre-Mer (appel à projet jeunesse)

The association Chercheurs d'Autres offers you an exhibition on Puu Baaka by Paul Doudou, Gaanman of the Alukus based in Papaïchton.

This photographic exhibition is accompanied by a sound walk by Pierre Selvini and an educational booklet written by Juliette Guaveïa and Marie Fleury.

In the spirit of interculturality that characterizes the members of the association, members of Taluen wanted to offer this exhibition in the village of Taluen.

Description of the exhibition:
The Alukus are a people living on the banks of the Maroni River in the middle of the Amazon rainforest in French Guiana, they are part of the Bushi Konde Sama, or Bushinengués. Within this community, the death of a person is marked by several cultural events, which end with a Puu Baaka (or puubaaka), the lifting of mourning. This ancestral ceremony is a unifying element for all.

The two photographers offer here a cross-reference that plunges us into the heart of the puubaaka of the gaanman (spiritual leader) Paul Doudou, one year after his death in November 2015.
