Les membres de l'Association Des Amis De Léon Damas tiennent à saluer avec un profond respect le départ vers d'autres cieux de leur aîné, ami, poète, professeur et homme de grande culture, frère de la Cause Guyanaise, monsieur Auxence CONTOUT et présentent à tous ses proches leurs condoléances les plus attristées.

"Nous nous inclinons au moment de sa disparition devant son immense contribution à l'éducation, à l'enseignement de générations de nos compatriotes et à la préservation du patrimoine culturel guyanais.

Qu'un bel hommage sur cette terre de Guyane qu'il a tant célébrée lui soit rendu !"
