Visite du Préfet de la région Guyane au quartier Félix Éboué du RSMA-Guyane

Marc Del Grande, préfet de la région Guyane, se rendra au quartier Félix Éboué du RSMA-Guyane pour rencontrer les bénévoles de la Croix-Rouge et les cadres et volontaires du RSMA engagés dans l’opération Résilience, sous le commandement du général Didier Looten, sur la nouvelle plateforme alimentaire de Cayenne, le jeudi 7 mai 2020 à 14 heures.

Après un mois et demi de confinement, la capacité d’action de la plateforme alimentaire (PFA) de Cayenne, gérée par la Croix-Rouge, connaît un accroissement suite aux 1,2 millions d’euros de financement exceptionnel attribué par le gouvernement à la Guyane.

Cette amplification de la capacité d’action est également due à la création de sites de stockage locaux : l’un à Saint-Laurent du Maroni et l’autre à Cayenne, installé au quartier Félix Éboué du Régiment du service militaire adapté de la Guyane (RSMA-Guyane). En effet, depuis plusieurs semaines, le RSMA assure également des de transport logistique entre les différentes plateformes, notamment entre Cayenne et Saint-Laurent du Maroni.

La montée en puissance de cette PFA devrait permettre la distribution de 335 tonnes d’aide alimentaire d’urgence d’ici fin juillet 2020.

Suite au passage en stade 2 de l’épidémie le 4 avril, les mesures de confinement sont renforcées sur le territoire. Après un recensement des besoins sur le terrain, le Préfet a mis en place une aide alimentaire d’urgence au profit des populations les plus fragiles dès le 14 avril.

Les forces armées en Guyane et le RSMA apportent leurs moyens logistiques et humains aux services de l’État et au profit de la population dans le cadre de l’opération militaire Résilience qui constitue la contribution des armées à l’engagement interministériel contre la propagation du COVID-19.

After a month and a half of containment, the capacity of action of the food platform (PFA) of Cayenne, managed by the Red Cross, is increasing following the 1.2 million euros of exceptional funding allocated by the government to French Guyana.

This increased capacity for action is also due to the creation of local storage sites: one in Saint-Laurent du Maroni and the other in Cayenne, located in the Félix Éboué district of the Regiment of the adapted military service of Guyana (RSMA-French Guiana). Indeed, for several weeks, the RSMA has also been providing logistics transport between the different platforms, in particular between Cayenne and Saint-Laurent du Maroni.

The ramp-up of this PFA should allow the distribution of 335 tonnes of emergency food aid by the end of July 2020.

Following the transition to stage 2 of the epidemic on April 4, containment measures are being strengthened on the territory. After an inventory of needs in the field, the Prefect set up emergency food aid for the most vulnerable populations as of April 14.

The armed forces in French Guiana and the RSMA bring their logistical and human resources to the State services and for the benefit of the population within the framework of the military operation Resilience which constitutes the contribution of the armies to the interministerial engagement against the spread COVID-19.
