La HAS favorable à un forfait innovation pour les tests virologiques au CHC

La Haute autorité de santé (HAS) a annoncé lundi avoir rendu un avis favorable à l'attribution d'un forfait innovation pour l'utilisation de tests de détection virologiques du Sars-CoV-2 sur prélèvement salivaire dans le cadre de l’étude diagnostique Covisal menée par le CHC en collaboration avec le CHU de Caen depuis le 22 juillet.

Le forfait innovation, mis en place en 2009, permet, à titre dérogatoire (et pour une durée limitée) de prendre en charge de manière partielle ou totale un acte médical ou un acte innovant, faisant partie d’une étude clinique ou médico économique.

Le feu vert de la HAS au forfait innovation a été obtenu en mentionnant le co-portage Société Française de Microbiologie/CH de Cayenne. Il s’agit du premier avis favorable de la HAS sur une technologie de santé dans le cadre de la Covid, mais également du premier avis forfait innovation pour un projet co-porté par une société savante et un établissement de santé.

L'avis encourage la poursuite de l'étude Covisal portée par le CHC et permet son utilisation précoce pour les patients, dans certains cas. La prochaine étape pour que les recommandations de la HAS soient applicables pour tous sera l’aval du Ministère de la Santé et sa publication au Journal officiel.

Non invasif et indolore, le test salivaire est susceptible d’être mieux accepté par les patients, notamment s’ils sont amenés à être testés de manière répétée. L’étude menée à Cayenne doit permettre de compléter les connaissances sur sa sensibilité et déclencher, le cas échéant, le processus d'évaluation pour une prise en charge généralisée.

The High Authority for Health (HAS) announced on Monday that it had issued a favorable opinion for the award of an innovation package for the use of virological detection tests for Sars-CoV-2 on saliva samples as part of the study Covisal diagnostic carried out by the CHC in collaboration with the Caen University Hospital since July 22.

The innovation package, implemented in 2009, allows, by way of derogation (and for a limited period), to partially or totally cover a medical act or an innovative act, forming part of a clinical or medico-economic study.

The green light from HAS for the innovation package was obtained by mentioning the co-sponsorship of the French Microbiology Company / CH Cayenne. This is the first favorable opinion of the HAS on a health technology within the framework of the Covid, but also the first innovation package opinion for a project co-sponsored by a learned society and a healthcare establishment.

The opinion encourages the continuation of the Covisal study carried by the CHC and allows its early use for patients, in certain cases. The next step in making the HAS recommendations applicable to everyone will be the approval of the Ministry of Health and its publication in the Official Journal.

Non-invasive and painless, the saliva test is likely to be better accepted by patients, especially if they need to be tested repeatedly. The study carried out in Cayenne should make it possible to supplement knowledge on its sensitivity and trigger, if necessary, the evaluation process for generalized management.
