Réaction du Comité Scientifique Territorial aux nouveaux cas de variants de Covid19

Considérant la présence avérée de cas de variants de Covid19 en Guyane et le décès d’un patient contaminé par un variant, les membres du Comité Scientifique Territorial (CST) réitèrent leurs préconisations quant à la politique vaccinale, à savoir l’élargissement de la cible vaccinale à l’ensemble de la population adulte volontaire de Guyane.

- Rappel de l’avis des membres du CST lors de la réunion du lundi 01 février 2021 organisée en présence de François Ringuet, président de l’Association des Maires de Guyane, invité par le CST :

« [Les membres du CST] se disent inquiets face à la stagnation de la campagne de vaccination sur le territoire [...] rappellent qu’il n’est pas, à ce stade, opportun de cesser l’approvisionnement de la Guyane. C’est pourquoi, ils recommandent d’engager, par le biais d’une concertation multipartisme [...] une campagne de communication visant à susciter l’adhésion de la population et ce, sur la base d’une stratégie ambitieuse et réaliste qui répondra aux enjeux de cette phase de la crise Covid”.


- Rappel de l’avis des membres du CST lors de la réunion du lundi 08 février 2021 organisée en présence de Clara de Bort, directrice générale de l’Agence Régionale de Santé, invitée par le CST :

« [Les membres du CST recommandent] :
- un élargissement de l’accès à la vaccination aux personnes volontaires n’appartenant pas à la catégorie dite prioritaire et rappelle, l’impérieuse nécessité, face à la menace des variants COVID, de vacciner rapidement le plus grand nombre de personnes;
- une vigilance certaine, a fortiori, en prévision d’un éventuel allègement des mesures restrictives sur le territoire;
- la poursuite d’une politique de test dynamique, associée à un renforcement des moyens dédiés à l’isolement des personnes positives et des cas contacts afin d’éviter une dissémination du virus incontrôlée;
- le renforcement des contrôles aux frontières »

S’agissant de la Collectivité Territoriale de Guyane (CTG) :

Le Président Rodolphe Alexandre indique que la CTG est prête à accompagner le renforcement de la politique vaccinale, à mettre des moyens en place (mise à disposition d’équipements sportifs tels que le PROGT, moyens humains, etc.) et à travailler avec l’ensemble des partenaires afin d’accélérer le processus de vaccination et d’arriver à un taux de vaccination qui permettra d’endiguer la prolifération des cas de variants sur le territoire. Le Président Rodolphe Alexandre rappelle la nécessité de maintenir avec encore plus de vigilance les mesures barrières dans la situation actuelle.

Considering the proven presence of cases of Covid19 variants in French Guiana and the death of a patient infected with a variant, the members of the Territorial Scientific Committee (CST) reiterate their recommendations regarding the vaccine policy, namely the expansion of the vaccine target for the entire adult volunteer population of French Guiana.

- Reminder of the opinion of the members of the CST during the meeting of Monday 01 February 2021 organized in the presence of François Ringuet, president of the Association of Mayors of French Guyana, invited by the CST:

"[The members of the CST] say they are worried about the stagnation of the vaccination campaign in the territory [...] recall that it is not, at this stage, opportune to stop the supply of French Guiana . This is why they recommend to initiate, by means of a multi-party [...] consultation, a communication campaign aiming to elicit the support of the population and this, on the basis of an ambitious and realistic strategy. which will respond to the challenges of this phase of the Covid crisis ”.

- Reminder of the opinion of the members of the CST during the meeting of Monday, February 08, 2021 organized in the presence of Clara de Bort, director general of the Regional Health Agency, invited by the CST:

“[CST members recommend]:
- an expansion of access to vaccination to volunteers who do not belong to the so-called priority category and recalls the urgent need, faced with the threat of COVID variants, to rapidly vaccinate as many people as possible;
- a certain vigilance, a fortiori, in anticipation of a possible reduction in restrictive measures in the territory;
- the pursuit of a dynamic testing policy, associated with a strengthening of the means dedicated to the isolation of positive people and contact cases in order to prevent uncontrolled dissemination of the virus;
- strengthening of border controls ”

Regarding the Territorial Collectivity of French Guiana (CTG):

President Rodolphe Alexandre indicates that the CTG is ready to support the strengthening of the vaccination policy, to put in place means (provision of sports equipment such as the PROGT, human resources, etc.) and to work with the all partners in order to speed up the vaccination process and achieve a vaccination rate that will make it possible to stem the proliferation of variant cases in the territory. President Rodolphe Alexandre reiterates the need to maintain barrier measures with even greater vigilance in the current situation.
