Focus sur la Plukenetia polyadenia

Si vous avez parcouru le sentier botanique ces derniers jours, vous avez peut-être repéré au sol des fruits aux formes étranges soit à l’entrée soit aux abords immédiats de l’abri-pluie situé à mi-parcours. Une fois tombé au sol, ce fruit légèrement luisant à la forme mi rond/mi carré présentant 4 grosses côtes qui virent au noir au bout de quelques jours. Issu d’une grosse liane volubile, il contient 4 graines sphériques.

Plukenetia polyadenia, connu auparavant sous son synonyme Plukenetia abutifolia, est une plante qui fait partie de la famille des Euphorbiacées. Sa fructification intervient principalement de mars à mai.

If you've been on the botanical trail in recent days, you may have spotted some oddly shaped fruit on the ground either at the entrance or in the immediate vicinity of the rain shelter located halfway through. Once fallen to the ground, this slightly shiny fruit with a half round / half square shape with 4 large ribs which turn black after a few days. From a large twining liana, it contains 4 spherical seeds.

Plukenetia polyadenia, previously known by its synonym Plukenetia abutifolia, is a plant that is part of the Euphorbiaceae family. Its fruiting takes place mainly from March to May.
