Création de la Coordination des Organisations des Peuples Autochtones de Guyane

En ce jour de reconnaissance des droits des Peuples autochtones, le Parti Socialiste Guyanais, apporte tout son soutien aux communautés amérindiennes de l’intérieur qui subissent les conséquences de l’orpaillage illégal. Pollution, destruction de leur espace de subsistance, fortes tensions avec les orpailleurs, telles sont les réalités vécues.

Le Parti Socialiste Guyanais se veut être un relais des revendications de ces femmes et ces hommes qui affirment leur volonté à être pleinement citoyens de ce territoire.

Le Parti Socialiste Guyanais prend acte de la création de la COPAG (Coordination des Organisations des Peuples Autochtones de Guyane) et s’inscrit dans une démarche de soutien aux revendications légitimes de reconnaissance des droits fondamentaux.

On this day of recognition of the rights of indigenous peoples, the Guianese Socialist Party gives its full support to the Amerindian communities of the interior who are suffering the consequences of illegal gold mining. Pollution, destruction of their living space, strong tensions with the artisanal miners, these are the realities.

The Guianese Socialist Party wants to be a relay of the demands of these women and men who affirm their will to be fully citizens of this territory.

The Guianese Socialist Party takes note of the creation of COPAG (Coordination of Organizations of Indigenous Peoples of French Guiana) and is part of a process of support for legitimate demands for the recognition of fundamental rights.
