It is with sadness that Gabriel SERVILLE learned this morning of the disappearance of Richard Gabriel, a well known Guianese personality, both for his career in entrepreneurship and for his involvement in political circles and associations.

"He had indeed started from a very young age in commerce, until, after a long career, the owner of numerous brands in French Guiana.

We will also remember his career in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of French Guiana, where he was vice-president and then president.

Without a doubt, it will have left its mark on the economic life of the territory.

An involvement that he also put at the service of the associative world, and in particular of Guyanese Sport of which he was the president.

Also involved in politics, he joined the former mayor of Cayenne Jean-Claude Lafontaine from 1995 to 2008, as deputy mayor of the town.

Today he is a true local figure who is taking his bow. A man of commitment, particularly invested in the life of our territory.

My Advisors join me in sending our condolences to his family and loved ones and showing them our support.
