From 2019, the Municipality of Matoury wishes to rename all schools that do not have a name. The school group located in the Larivot district responded to the project. Naming a school being an important act, a consultation process was undertaken with the educational community and the representatives of the parents of pupils. Among the proposals received, the choice fell on the appointment of Rosita SABAYO, former Chief of the Native American village located near the establishment, who died on August 21, 2021 as a result of Covid-19.
