L’Université de Guyane, lauréate : «ExcellenceS sous toutes ses formes» du PIA 4

La ministre de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche a annoncé officiellement ce jour à Grenoble, lors d’une conférence de presse, les lauréats de la vague 2 de l'appel à projets du PIA 4 "ExcellenceS sous toutes ses formes", dont l’Université de Guyane fait partie.

L’appel à projets "Excellence sous toutes ses formes" vise à reconnaitre l’excellence sous toutes ses formes et à accompagner les établissements d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche porteurs d’un projet de transformation ambitieux à l’échelle de leur site dans la mise en œuvre de leur stratégie propre, élaborée à partir de leur dynamique territoriale et de leurs besoins spécifiques. 17 établissements sont lauréats de cette deuxième vague. Cet appel est doté d’une enveloppe de 800 M€. La moitié de cette enveloppe environ sera consacrée aux projets portés par des établissements qui ne sont pas parties prenantes d’une initiative d’excellence labellisée IdEx ou ISITE, comme c’est le cas pour l’Université de Guyane.
Un projet universitaire ambitieux pour la recherche et l’innovation en Guyane : l’AIBSI « Amazonian Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainable Innovation »

A ce jour, la structuration et les liens entre le monde de la recherche, de l’innovation et le monde économique sont encore trop faibles sur notre territoire. Le souhait de développer une ou des filières autour de la bioéconomie en Guyane nécessite d’organiser la rencontre entre les acteurs socio-économiques et les acteurs académiques afin d’accompagner l’émergence d’un cluster de compétences sur la valorisation des bioressources de Guyane.

L’Université s’est engagée dans la rationalisation et la fédération de ses forces de recherche pour amplifier son impact sur le territoire en concentrant les efforts autour de cinq thématiques principales : Santé Globale, Biodiversité, dynamiques des sociétés amazoniennes, patrimoine, et technologies innovantes. Ainsi, le projet AIBSI « Institut Amazonien de la Biodiversité et de l’Innovation Durable » conforte cette politique de site et a pour ambition de :

• Créer une signature de site « Biodiversité et Innovations Durables en Amazonie » visible au niveau local, national et international ;
• Répondre à des grands enjeux sociétaux nécessitant une approche multi ou transdisciplinaires par la recherche et la formation ;
• Former des compétences d’aujourd’hui et de demain sur la biodiversité et ses domaines de valorisation pour rendre les innovations durables ;
• Constituer une plateforme de rayonnement scientifique dans le bassin géographique nord amazonien hissant la Guyane au carrefour de l’excellence ;
• Développer des sciences avec et pour la société en renforçant le continuum recherche-valorisation-société et en faisant la promotion de l’innovation sous toutes ses formes et le transfert technologique.

Le projet prend appui sur une recherche fondamentale en prise directe avec le territoire sur les dynamiques de la biodiversité et prend en compte quatre priorités académiques et sociétales : préservation de la biodiversité, alimentation durable, santé globale et écoconstruction. Il répond à trois objectifs stratégiques :
- Structurer et promouvoir une recherche d’excellence de rang mondial sur des grands enjeux sociétaux autour de la biodiversité en confortant le pôle d’excellence scientifique sur l’étude fondamentale de la biodiversité, et en intégrant les dimensions transition écologique, maladie infectieuse émergente, alimentation durable, construction durable.
- Former par une approche interdisciplinaire de haut niveau sur la biodiversité et l’innovation durable en Amazonie en structurant un continuum de formation transdisciplinaire LMD autour de la biodiversité et l’innovation durable en Amazonie et en créant du lien bac-3/bac+3.
- Accroître les relations avec le monde socio-économique en accompagnant l’innovation durable basée sur la biodiversité et en structurant le dialogue biodiversité et sociétés amazoniennes.

Le projet sera financé par l’ANR à hauteur de 14,15 millions d’euros pour les dix ans à venir, l’objectif final est de créer « l’Institut Amazonien de la Biodiversité et de l’Innovation Durable ».

La CTG et son agence GDI, le CNES, le CNRS ainsi que l’IFREMER font partie des partenaires engagés dans le soutien financier au projet.

The Minister of Higher Education and Research officially announced today in Grenoble, during a press conference, the winners of wave 2 of the PIA 4 call for projects "ExcellenceS in all its forms", of which the University of French Guiana is a part.

The "Excellence in all its forms" call for projects aims to recognize excellence in all its forms and to support higher education and research establishments carrying out an ambitious transformation project at the scale of their site in the implementation of their own strategy, developed on the basis of their territorial dynamics and their specific needs. 17 establishments are winners of this second wave. This call has an envelope of €800 million. About half of this envelope will be devoted to projects led by establishments that are not stakeholders in an initiative of excellence labeled IdEx or ISITE, as is the case for the University of French Guiana.
An ambitious university project for research and innovation in French Guiana: the AIBSI “Amazonian Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainable Innovation”

To date, the structure and links between the world of research, innovation and the economic world are still too weak in our territory. The desire to develop one or more sectors around the bioeconomy in French Guiana requires organizing meetings between socio-economic actors and academic actors in order to support the emergence of a cluster of skills on the development of bioresources in French Guiana. .

The University is committed to the rationalization and the federation of its research forces to amplify its impact on the territory by concentrating efforts around five main themes: Global Health, Biodiversity, dynamics of Amazonian societies, heritage, and innovative technologies. . Thus, the AIBSI project “Amazonian Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainable Innovation” reinforces this site policy and aims to:

• Create a site signature “Biodiversity and Sustainable Innovations in the Amazon” visible at the local, national and international level;
• Respond to major societal challenges requiring a multi or transdisciplinary approach through research and training;
• Train today's and tomorrow's skills on biodiversity and its areas of value to make innovations sustainable;
• Constitute a platform for scientific outreach in the northern Amazonian geographical basin, raising French Guiana to the crossroads of excellence;
• Develop science with and for society by strengthening the research-valorization-society continuum and by promoting innovation in all its forms and technology transfer.

The project is based on fundamental research in direct contact with the territory on the dynamics of biodiversity and takes into account four academic and societal priorities: preservation of biodiversity, sustainable food, global health and eco-construction. It meets three strategic objectives:
- Structure and promote world-class research of excellence on major societal issues around biodiversity by strengthening the center of scientific excellence on the fundamental study of biodiversity, and by integrating the dimensions of ecological transition, emerging infectious disease, sustainable power supply, sustainable construction.
- Train through a high-level interdisciplinary approach to biodiversity and sustainable innovation in the Amazon by structuring a LMD transdisciplinary training continuum around biodiversity and sustainable innovation in the Amazon and by creating a bac-3/bac+3 link .
- Increase relations with the socio-economic world by supporting sustainable innovation based on biodiversity and by structuring the dialogue between biodiversity and Amazonian societies.

The project will be funded by the ANR to the tune of 14.15 million euros for the next ten years, the final objective is to create the "Amazon Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainable Innovation".

CTG and its agency GDI, CNES, CNRS and IFREMER are among the partners involved in financial support for the project.
